The City and the Islands

The publication "City and Islands" presents the results of the interdisciplinary architectural-urban planning workshop titled "Zadar – City and Islands" (Zadar 2018). The workshop took place from August 24 to August 30, 2018, in Zadar as part of the four-year project "Historical Centers, Contemporary City, and Sustainable Tourism." The organizers and implementers of the interdisciplinary architectural-urban planning workshop were the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Architecture, and the University of Zadar, Department of Tourism and Communication Sciences. Collaboration was established with the Zadar Society of Architects, the City of Zadar, and the Zadar County – Institute for Spatial Planning of Zadar County. As part of the comprehensive project ZADAR 2020, over the four-year period, the exploration of the Zadar County and City area was conducted through four architectural-urban planning workshops. "Zadar – City and Islands" (Zadar 2018) is one of them, aimed at contributing to interdisciplinary spatial reflection by exploring the relationships between the city and the islands in the Zadar archipelago.
