UNVEILING THE HIDDEN
"(...) the world around us is a vessel full of different material and unmaterial layers of time (...)". In our work we try to make them visible by inhabiting existing spaces, liberating their condensed structure and finding the right balance between old and new - to make them a place of our time and our identity.
MARUŠA ZOREC
studied at the Faculty of Architecture in Ljubljana, where she is teaching since 1993. She lives and works in Ljubljana. In 1996 she established Arrea architects. Major works are Chapel in Ljubljana, Open-air Altar at Brezje, renovation of Vetrinje Manor in Maribor, renovation of the the Castle Outbuilding in Ormož, renovation of the Plečnik house in Ljubljana, renovation of Švicarija Art center Ljubljana, renovation of a monastery in Rio di Val Pusteria and reuse of the manor Javornik at Ravne na Koroškem. She participated at Venice Biennale in 2018, published Evidenca - listing of Slovene modern architecture buildings 1945-1970 and Oton Jugovec – architect. She received several awards for her work, mostly for small scale renovation projects dealing within protected environments and historical buildings.
